Recycling: What Can I Recycle


Remove all plastic bags, ties, glass and garbage
prior to placing materials into recycling containers.

Cooking Oil     All Recycling Centers
Electronic Waste Computers, monitors, keyboards, fax machines and printers Commercial materials ARE NOT accepted. All Recycling Centers
Farmer Oil Motor oil from farm equipment Limit 55 gallons per visit. Strom Thurmond, Batesburg Hwy. and Willington Recycling Centers
Newspapers, Inserts and Magazines Dry newspaper, inserts, magazines and junk mail DO NOT tie or bag. Towns of Edgefield, Saluda and Johnston (curbside collection) and all Recycling Centers)
Paperboard Cereal boxes, shoe boxes, etc. Flatten. Place in the cardboard receptacle. All Recycling Centers
Plastic Plastic bottles, jars and jugs marked with a #1 - #2 usually found on the bottom. No plastic deli trays, microwave containers, bags or film. Plastic bottles, jars and jugs ONLY Remove caps and lids. Rinse. Labels DO NOT need to be removed. Towns of Edgefield, Saluda and Johnston (curbside collection) and all Recycling Centers
Oil Bottles Motor oil bottles Drain excess oil from bottles. All Recycling Centers
Oil Filters Oil filters from automobiles   All Recycling Centers. Place in oil filter drum.
Oil/Gasoline Mixture   Transport in a tightly sealed container. Meriwether, Hamiliton Branch, Batesburg Hwy. and Traffic Circle Recycling Centers
Tires Automobile tires NO oversized or off-road tires. Limit four tires per visit. See "Recycle your tires!" below for recycling locations.

The following recycling centers accept 4 passenger tires from cars and small trucks per visit. (No oversized or off-road tires will be accepted.):
